de jeugdacademie gent-oost (jago) in sint-amandsberg is een gloednieuwe voetbalclub die resoluut de kaart trekt van de jeugd. de jeugdopleiding vormt de hoeksteen van de nieuwe vereniging en stelt zich tot doel alle spelers volgens hun talenten en mogelijkheden te begeleiden op een vormende en pedagogisch verantwoorde manier. dit in een kindvriendelijke omgeving zodat zij het maximum uit hun voetbaltalenten kunnen halen, plezier beleven aan de beoefening van de voetbalsport en zich ook als mens positief kunnen ontwikkelen. de vereniging zag op 17 april 2014 het levenslicht en telt 21 stichtende leden die een mooie mix van ouders van jeugdspelers, voetbalkenners, trainers, afgevaardigden, spelers en mensen met bestuurservaring representeren. inspraak faciliteren, participatie genereren en op een transparante manier beleid voeren zijn fundamentele keuzes. verder wil de club een laagdrempelig, buurtgebonden en familiaal uithangbord zijn.
