the jewish architectural heritage foundation, inc is a public charity focused on projects which are philanthropic in nature, restoring jewish public buildings and holy sites. many of its activities are planned in disadvantaged communities, serving to benefit members of all faiths and creeds and promoting inter-racial tolerance and understanding of local heritage. our flagship project is the northern transylvanian holocaust memorial museum. in 2004, at the company's inception, jahf launched a vigorous campaign, driving the restoration of a dilapidated 19th century transylvanian synagogue forward, and its adaptive reuse as romania's first holocaust museum, which continues to serve as a regional landmark and cultural heritage site, drawing a steady flow of pilgrims and tourists.
