Jam John Armitage Memorial Trust

jam is a music charity, set up in 2000 to promote new music in the uk. it has an annual call for music when anyone can submit works for choir, brass & organ (or any combination of these forces). jam was set up to enable & promote composition in the uk. since then it has performed approximately 60 new works including pieces by timothy jackson (2002), jonathan dove (2003), john mccabe (2004), paul patterson (2005), judith bingham (2006), adam gorb (2007), gabriel jackson (2008), steve martland (2009), tarik o'regan, hannah kendall, richard peat & paul mealor (all 2010) & philiip cashian (2011). jam's 2006 & 2008 commissions (bingham & jackson) both won the choral category at the british composer awards.
