my name is jamal williams and i’m a photographer living in the historic treme neighborhood of new orleans. i began my love affair with photography in 2010 when i received and old dslr from my uncle. however, it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the wonderful challenges of trying to capture the atmosphere, movement, and most importantly the emotion in each photograph. i’ve found the process so intoxicating that the pursuit of beautiful images has become a driving force in my life. i have recently abandoned a successful career in enterprise web development to pursue this creative endeavor full time. while i shoot a wide variety of subjects and styles including beauty and fashion work, the bulk of my photography is on capturing life's beautiful moments on the street. i like to approach my photography from a journalistic standpoint: preferring candid moments over staged shots. also, my photographs often showcase colorful, wild, slightly out of the norm aspects of life in the pla
