james calder is an independent, freelance photojournalist and photo editor, specializing in sports, editorial and travel. he is a volunteer pool photographer, photo editor and writer for dcist.com and is a co-organizer of the popular annual photography exhibit, dcist exposed. his photographs have been used in a variety of local, national and international publications (both print and online), including the washington post, washington post express, the examiner, washingtonian magazine, washington life magazine, the loudon connection, tbd, nowpublic, the new colonist and bradt travel guides. he has donated his services to local non-profits such as the washington animal rescue league, community of hope, scottie's place and dc scores. he currently serves as the official photographer of the d.c. rollergirls.
