my passion and life's purpose is to help people understand that their current thought process and behaviour, was an early adaptation to their childhood need for attachment. most of us if not all, have experienced some degree of childhood trauma. when we think of trauma, we think of the big t's such as sexual abuse, a parent dying or a horrific accident. developmental trauma is silent and so subtle that when we look back at our childhoods, we normalise our experiences. 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐚: 🔴our parents/caregivers were emotionally unavailable (this creates a belief in the child that their emotions do not matter and they are not important or safe). 🔴our parents used the relationship against us as a way of punishing us (this causes the child to be confused because the source of my love is the same source of my pain). 🔴if we had parents who were drunk/fighting, we would learn to dissociate and disconnect from that environment by tuning out. in our society, we are surroun
