i am running for uup professional delegate in the upcoming spring 2021 chapter elections at stony brook. i have worked as a professional for stony brook university for the past 16 years in doit client support and doit core services infrastructure. currently my role is a senior database engineer for the university. as an it professional, the systems that my department supports are ones that are used by academics, such as peoplesoft (solar) and blackboard. doit is an integral part of the university for both academics and professionals. i am also the uup department representative for core services infrastructure. i regularly attend uup executive board meetings and have been a resource for the members of my department. i want to run as a professional delegate so i can be better involved in chapter governance. in the past 10 there have been challenges in doit. these include increasing workloads and position shortages, lack of compensative equity, and lack of diversity. there has bee
