james hand sketches buildings and landscapes in pen and ink. he believes that you simply cannot capture the same spirit of a place in a photograph that you can through the more personal and varied medium of hand drawing. james has recently worked on a series of landscape illustrations of national trust estates across the uk and at a smaller scale on clients homes and business shop fronts in his native manchester. each piece is hand drawn in pen and detailed using varying line-weights. these drawings are then brought to life through the introduction of colour, pattern and texture that help bring life and vibrancy to each image.
