james lister & sons limited, was founded in 1874 in tipton by a local schoolteacher, james lister, as a hardware and ironmonger shop. although we have grown considerably since then, with more than 150 in the team, we have stayed close to our roots, still supplying various types of fluid power and industrial/janitorial supplies to a very large customer base. we remain a privately owned family business with 3 of the owners being the great, great grandsons of james lister. the family spirit ethos and pride in the tradition of excellent customer service and honesty is a key differentiator in how we do business. we operate a large fleet of delivery vehicles from our 8 midlands & south wales based branches and work with customers ranging from small engineering firms to large multinational companies, and from schools and colleges to care homes. we have long term supply relationships with quality suppliers parker hannifin, smc pneumatics, seco tools, kimberley clark, procter and gamble, shell
