the james martin institute for public policy was established to transform how public policy is made by harnessing world-leading research expertise. the james martin institute for public policy is an independent, non-partisan organisation. the institute was first established in 2019 through a generous grant from the nsw government with matched funding from a group of universities: the university of sydney, western sydney university and uts. our work is defined by new and novel ways to unpack problems to generate practical and long-lasting solutions. bringing experts together to solve a problem is at the core of our work. to do this, we need to transform the relationship between government and academia. by creating a neutral space that facilitates collaboration, co-design and co-delivery, policy makers and universities can work better together for the public good.
