as a student of painting i studied colour in depth, and use it as a structural, not simply decorative, component of my images. hence, in transferring my knowledge to the digital context i apply a painter’s knowledge of colour to image generation. i may be one of the few contemporary artists working in the fields of graphic and website design to have studied perspective and the spatial integrity of objects within the field depicted, naturalistic or abstract, and as such my work is both exceptional and unusual. in applying basic visual arts knowledge to the digital sphere i am able to manipulate original photographic imagery through compositing to construct images that have a three-dimensional visual logic and aesthetic integrity. my skill set is applicable to all visual communications media without discrimination. in my work i manipulate the tools available from all visual technological sources. combining digital technology with visual arts training opens up the possibility of inventing
