jamii fund is a non-profit organization focused on helping patients faced with mounting medical debt as a result of chronic illness. our organization will accept donations to assist individuals in the united states that cannot afford their medical treatments on their own. our goal is to eliminate medical debt as a major cause of financial trouble and allow those that we help to extend their lives by receiving the treatments that they need. the word “jamii” is a swahili word that translates to “community” in english, and the spirit of this word is weaved into the very fabric of our organization. in traditional swahili culture, it is customary for members of a local tribe to collaborate in an effort to nurse sick individuals back to health. this is an important theme for the swahili people, and the inspiration for what jamii fund will achieve. we will introduce this idea to the modern culture in the united states by adapting it to our current technology and changing the way that people c
