we attempt to disrupt a cycle that deprives young women from opportunities. we recruit a corps of young women who, historically, have been oppressed, pulled from schools, married young, and sent to far away cities to work. the course focuses on teaching the girls artisanal skills: how to tailor, embroider, make jewelry, and local foods. we encourage our participants to use their skills to make a profit and earn a sustainable income, financial independence, and use their newfound confidence to help their families, children, and communities.
