pierre jaquet-droz was one of the greatest craftsman-creators of the 18th century. true visionary genius, he left his mark – founded in 1738 - on the history of watchmaking. with his son henri-louis, this brilliant inventor was the first to establish his manufacture in geneva, before touring the courts of europe to present his breathtaking handwork, exquisitely decorated humanoid automata and singing watches, and exporting his pieces across the globe, in particular to china. jaquet droz joined the swatch group in 2000, and ever since has continued to perpetuate its founder’s history and expertise. in 2014, the brand celebrated its 275 years of history linking the age of enlightenment to the third millennium. this year, the two stars brand has presented new wonders on the occasion of baselworld 2015. the most iconic timepieces showcased during the watch exhibition are the charming bird, the bird repeater geneva, le lady 8 flower, the phm butterfly and the grande seconde deadbeat.
