jci is a nonprofit organization of young active citizens between the age of 18 to 40 who are engaged and committed to creating an impact in their communities. they carry out research, identify problems in the society and outline solutions to create sustainable impact. jci gathers active citizens from all sectors of society and helps them to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to make informed decisions and take action. it was founded on october 13, 1915 by henry giessenbier in st. louis usa. jci members take initiative to solve local challenges. it only takes one active citizen to change the world. jci provides development opportunities for active citizens such that they can empower other young individuals to be active citizens as well. all young individuals have rights, responsibilities and as a result of being globally minded, they share responsibilities. jci helps these globally minded individuals find targeted solutions to local issues benefitting our communiti
