the company began life in 1919 as a local distributor of wines, spirits and beers remaining in the mccabes family ownership until control passed to the present owners in august 1983. today mccabes is part of golf holdings ltd, one of the largest private companies in northern ireland, employing in excess of 2000 people in all aspects of the alcohol industry. for the last 25 years, mccabes has an unequaled record of sales and profit growth, the result of consistent commitment to sales and service excellence and key brand portfolio growth. mccabes began handling all the spirits and many of the wine brands in the hollywood and donnelly portfolio on 2nd march 2009. distribution the company operates from a modern distribution facility built in 1972 was extended in 1995 with bonded and duty paid stores in 95,000 square feet and an office block of 20,000 square feet. mccabes have a fleet of 19 trucks and articulated trucks giving a trip delivery capacity of 228 pallets or 20,000 cases. t
