the jewish education innovation challenge (jeic) is a grantmaking initiative designed to encourage experimentation and innovation in jewish day school education, with the ultimate goal of implementing revolutionary, practical education models that are sustainable, accountable and scalable. by rewarding and collaborating with talented innovators, jeic seeks to improve the way jewish values, literacy, practice and belief are transferred to the next generation. for generations, the jewish people prioritized the effective transmission of judaism’s beliefs, practices, and guidance in daily life. tragically, today’s jewish day-school system in north america fails to inculcate our children with an appreciation and love for the beauty of torah and a dedication to jewish spiritual values. the very structure of the system, as it exists today, interferes with its own success. with that as our premise, we will submit a way to reverse this trend. we believe that new models for education based on an
