Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Island

the jewish genealogy society of long island (jgsli) was founded in 1985 dedicated to encouraging and assisting the pursuit of jewish family history. our goal at the jgsli is to bring together people interested in tracing their jewish family roots. we are a non-profit organization, run through the efforts of our members. the society works to encourage, assist and educate members and the general public in the “how to’s” of finding one’s roots. we also collect and disseminate information on genealogical resources and techniques as well as promoting the preservation of and access to jewish records and resources. meetings are held usually on the 4th sunday of each month. please check the website for our upcoming speakers.
