the mission of the jewish learning institute is to inspire jewish learning and to transform jewish life in the san francisco area through torah study in a setting in which anyone, at any level, can participate, learn and enjoy. our holistic approach to jewish study considers the impact of jewish values on personal and interpersonal growth. drawing on research-based instructional design and cutting-edge approaches to adult learning, jli-sf’s innovative presentation of traditional judaism is designed to be both intellectually rigorous and highly accessible. rabbi peretz mochkin serves as the executive director and instructor for jli-san francisco. the professional education program (“pep”) of the jewish learning institute provides opportunities for california-licensed professionals to explore the jewish perspective on social and ethical issues that they encounter in their daily work-lives, and obtain continuing education credit for their study. pep courses and seminars present expert inf
