our mission the jewish federation of greater hartford protects and enhances the well-being of jews worldwide through the values of tikkun olam (repairing the world), tzedakah (charity and social justice) and torah (jewish learning). our actions federation donors, volunteers and staff are: repairing the world. you’ll find us raising fresh produce for the hungry at jessie’s community gardens, reading with at-risk students through children's reading partners, and visiting homebound jewish seniors to build friendships and reduce isolation. educating jewish children. we fund free jewish books and music for more than 1,000 local children through the pj library initiative, managed by our friends at the mandell jcc. we offer professional development workshops and grants to local jewish educators. and we provide vital financial support to local jewish day schools and youth programs. advocating for israel. federation offers year-round educational and social programs to help you learn more about
