jia ® is the first independent jewellery school in australia dedicated to the art of hand engraving and diamond setting. workbenches are fully equipped with state of the art tools, a leica microscope, grs gravermax g8, universal flexi-shaft and all the hand tools required. demonstrations are viewed on a flat screen tv using an hd camera connected to the zeiss microscope which allows a close-up view. bearing in mind your busy lifestyle and schedules we designed classes that are short and intensive. gabriel j owen director and instructor of jia has over 25 years experience in the jewellery business. he's a second generation jeweller and a graduate gemologist from gia. he studied in the united state and europe with some of the top masters in the industry. his aim is to share his knowledge and expertise with the new generation of jewellers.
