private practice for psychotherapy for individuals, families, couples. joanna attained her undergraduate degree in communication studies with a minor in hispanic studies from northwestern university. spending a year abroad in spain, she was able to gain a first-hand experience of living in a culture other than her own. this experience, among others, has helped to mold her into a therapist who can work with a diverse population of clients by being aware of similarities and differences that may arise. she went on to pursue a career as a high school spanish teacher for 5 years in which she gained experience in working with adolescents, their struggles, both academic and personal, and their families. joanna received her master's degree in psychology from our lady of the lake university in august, 2008, with 2 years of practicum and internship experience working with clients. since then she has continued on to gain experience in a community agency working with an array of clients who presen
