joe ravetz photography is located in venice ca. i specialize in fine art ballet and dance photography working with many los angles dance companies and dance schools. i'm self- publishing a fine art book, entitled: "after degas: new ballet photography." most of my dance photography is heavily stylized as i attempt to capture the motion in dance through various camera techniques i've developed. i have a long term project following the lives of eleven los angeles girls as they grow up, started from the ages 9-11 until they're 18. my portraits of homeless people was exhibited at the blue seven gallery in santa monica, and at the platt gallery of the american jewish university. there's is also a book of this project called: "thank you god bless," words that are often seen on the written signs used by homeless people on streetcorners throughout the city. my "rhythm/color/motion" series of venice beach musicians was exhibited in a group show at the lois lambert gallery in the bergamot art cen
