john r. math is a fine art photographer based in jupiter florida. he specializes in creating minimalist abstract digital images. math states this about his art, “being near the ocean, i shoot horizons, seascapes and waves. i also create abstract landscape images, which i like to call “focus images”. to me a focus image interprets and depicts the essence of a natural object, place or thing. this essence may be in the form of a common distinguishable element of an object or of an overall feeling that one would derive from being subjected to that particular focus.” he continues his thoughts by saying, “overall, my images focus and interpret an identifying element of a natural object or scene. with my images the viewer has an immediate intrinsic connection with the object. the depiction of these inherent elements provides for and serves as a reminder to us that we are connected to nature through our source and essence.” math’s photographs have not been manipulated with any type of digital
