John W. Barton Leadership Development

this page was created in support of the john w. barton, sr. community leadership development program (barton program). this program was established by forum 35 in honor of john w. barton, sr., and is administered through the lsu executive education department. the purpose of the program is two fold: 1) to help make better leaders for our community 2) to help transfer that leadership into our non-profit community. as such the curriculum is focused on training our participants on leadership development and on non-profit board governance. starting in 2016, the program will be spread out of 4 separate classroom style sessions, culminating with a meet and greet at the end of the program between the graduates and representatives of our local non-profit community. our hope is that our graduates will be able to help fill the needs of many of non-profit organizations have on their board and committee positions.
