the joint vienna institute (jvi) provides policy-oriented training primarily to public sector officials from countries in central, eastern and southeastern europe, the caucasus and central asia, and other selected countries. the jvi offers courses that focus on macroeconomic policy formulation and management; monetary policy and the exchange rate system; financial sector stability; debt sustainability and management; tax policy and revenue administration; expenditure management; fiscal institutions and governance; legislative frameworks; macroeconomic and financial statistics; and many more specialized topics. the jvi is sponsored by two primary members: the austrian authorities—the federal ministry of finance (bmf) and the oesterreichische nationalbank (oenb)—and the international monetary fund (imf); and by five contributing members: the european bank for reconstruction and development (ebrd), the european investment bank (eib), the international bank for reconstruction and developme
