jolie laide is an innovative forum for new art located in center city philadelphia at 224 n. juniper st. presenting work by largely unseen or early career artists exhibiting in the us and abroad. as an exhibition space, we advocate progress, new ideas and trends in contemporary art by actively pursuing young artists and provoking new work in an effort to support innovation in contemporary art. we are dedicated to creating a supportive environment for new works through the promotion of conceptual dialogue. exhibitions will be supplemented with written works by a gifted group of art thinkers whom have also contributed to beautiful/decay, juxtapoz and the brooklyn rail. these components will be published on our website as part of the online catalogue that will accompany each show. our stimulating programming includes two weeks of performances and site-specific installations in our project space during the philadelphia fringe festival in september, followed by a guest curated show in our m
