i'be been operating as a full-time, professional artist since 1991. i'm the leading painter of portraits in oils of country houses and gardens in the uk. i use a meticulous miniaturist style but produce large 'biographical' paintings, typically of private properties in the countryside, almost always to commission. i've executed sixty major commissions in ten countries. all of these works have been painted in studios located in london, sussex, brussels and nyc. from 2011 i'm planning to create series of smaller landscape works painted outside (en plein air), in a looser style. these will be painted in the countryside in the uk, france, italy and also in india. i'm also a professional photographer and am planning an exhibition and a book of photographic portraits of notable british people dressed in historic costumes.
