the world’s intensive agriculture production systems draw heavily on natural capital and are environmentally unsustainable. they are responsible for substantial environmental degradation including excessive greenhouse gas emissions, degraded water quality and substantial biodiversity loss. having already reached their limits of efficiency, our intensive industrial food production systems cannot sustainably feed the growing world population and must now be significantly curtailed to protect the environment. we believe that the world’s reliance on intensive agriculture must end and that we must rapidly transition to a sustainable platform for food production.
