josie elizabeth davis is a producing artist, educator, scholar, and founder and ceo of curmudgeon group, a concept advertising and experiential branding incubator based in chicago. her work draws attention to constructs of cultural, economic, environmental, and social behavior, combining her passion and skills in human-robotic interaction, linguistics, music and the voice, performance theory, urban design, anatomy, conservation, architecture, and public art. davis works with a collaborative team of community, private sector, and institutional partners to develop world-class, groundbreaking public works that redefine how relationships are framed between communities, the individual, and his or her urban and rural space. josie holds an m.a. in performance studies from new york university and has trained extensively in performance, theatre, and opera studies across the u.s., europe, and latin america. she has exhibited, directed, and independently produced and presented work at stanford un
