the journal of pedagogy in secondary education is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal published online on a semi-annual basis. the philosophical purpose of jpse to remove the gap between education academia and teacher practice. in this way, the journal recognises the equal importance of both academics and secondary educators to improve pedagogical practice in schools. the journal encourages submissions from a diverse background of individuals, including experienced secondary educators, school leaders, undergraduate and postgraduate students studying education at a recognised tertiary institution, as well as career academics. jpse thus has a broader goal to create a collaborative academic space for key stakeholders in the secondary education sector to improve pedagogical practice. jpse offers two academic prizes for manuscript submissions on an annual basis. the “jpse academic award” is awarded to a manuscript submissions from an early-career/career academic in the field of educa
