journal on diversity focuses on investor owned companies providing cable, electricity, gas, telecommunications and water services in america. typically, these companies are regulated by state utility commissioners and or the federal government agencies such as department of energy and federal communications commission. the creation of the magazine was inspired by the national utilities diversity council (nudc) and the california utilities diversity council (cudc). both organizations work closely with public utility commissions to promote diversity in five key areas: governance; procurement; employment; philanthropy; and, customer service and marketing. it is a privately owned publication based in fair oaks, ca.
