joy paints portraits in oil that become treasured family heirlooms, or to honor corporate leaders and volunteers. growing up one of joy’s earliest memories was the desire to be a painter, and people and animals have always been her favorite subjects. joy loves the challenge of capturing that essence of inner beauty she sees in everyone. starting with watercolor and acrylics and eventually moving to oil pastels and then oils, joy loves working with each mediums strengths and weaknesses. depending on the subject matter and the overall tone or atmosphere of the painting will be the deciding factor in which medium she uses. classical realism is her favorite style, however, she also likes to custom match the style of the painting to the subject matter and to the personal style of the investor.
