la junta central electoral (jce) es un órgano autónomo con personalidad jurídica e independencia técnica, administrativa, presupuestaria y financiera, cuya finalidad principal será organizar y dirigir las asambleas electorales para la celebración de elecciones y de mecanismos de participación popular establecidos por la presente constitución y las leyes. tiene facultad reglamentaria en los asuntos de su competencia. desde 12 de abril de 1923, la república dominicana cuenta con una institución especializada en materia comicial. la junta central electoral (jce), es el organismo que por mandato constitucional (art. 92) está encargado de organizar y dirigir las elecciones, garantizando el real ejercicio de la ciudadanía en nuestra nación. otra importante atribución es la de administrar y normar los actos del estado civil de los dominicanos y dominicanas. la actual composición está integrada por un presidente y cuatro miembros y sus suplentes, elegidos por un período de cuatro años por el
