the ultimate destination for jazz frederick smith jr & leroy downs know that a company built like a small jazz group must be able to work well with others, improvise at a moment’s notice, constantly find ways to show up for the gig and consistently pump out new music and refreshing content. it must also honor the past, respect the present and look forward to the future, to what’s next. all music television digital network was created in the summer of 2014 as a digital platform to market and promote all music, particularly jazz music, in a changing digital landscape. it was inspired by a love and respect for the music and by a chance meeting with a talented young local jazz saxophonist named kamasi washington. inspired by his music, his humility and a desire to spread his music with the world, we decided to meet the young man for breakfast at a local inglewood restaurant and record the meeting. fred smith enlisted the help of friend and jazz music fan, former nba player craig smith.
