a just kidding nasceu em 2009 após um trabalho da faculdade, que tinha como objetivo a criação de estampas.o designer samuel calmon viu nesse momento a possiblidade de criar camisetas que se adaptassem ao seu estilo de vida.ele que sempre praticou esportes e admirou arte, música e cultura de rua, percebeu que as roupas dessa movimento tinham em sua maioria cores escuras e neutras e as modelagens eram sempre muito grandes.então, resolveu fazer peças que fossem mais leves, com mais alternativas de cores e estampas, além de cortes confortáveis e exclusivos.
