just lamb was established during 1998, by dr kabols le riche, a qualified veterinarian. during the early years much time was spend to co-ordinate marketing actions from lamb abattoirs, especially in the kalahari and karoo areas. more recently, just lamb has started focusing more intensely on the further processing and value adding of sheep and lamb meat. the business still procures almost exclusively from the kalahari and karoo areas in order to deliver a meat product, deriving from animals that were reared under extensive conditions and on healthy, natural pastures. specific farms are selected and farmers contracted to produce lamb, according to the exclusive just lamb specifications, the product of which is packed under specific brands for selected supermarkets. abattoirs in the group and those contracted to slaughter for just lamb, are on a regular basis subject to both internal and external audits. these audits are internationally accredited. the just lamb boksburg factory and dist
