just2disrupt is a reentry organization fighting the collateral consequences of incarceration. we provide social, economic and academic support to justice-impacted people pursuing higher education. we cultivate the next generation of leadership by ensuring that people have the tools and support to complete a college degree. the same poverty and racism that ensnares people in the criminal legal system are the root causes of failing to obtain education. education is the most powerful tool to combat systemic oppression. most not-for-profits who emphasize education are not run by people familiar with the trauma and consequences of incarceration. true social change cannot happen until the people impacted by the problem are part of the solution. supporting the education of justice-impacted people creates equity; tomorrow’s policy makers must include people directly impacted by mass incarceration.
