k-w habilitation services (kwhs) was incorporated in july 1971 and is a not-for-profit organization that provides supports and services to individuals with developmental disabilities in the kitchener-waterloo, ontario area. kwhs believes that individuals with developmental disabilities have the right to live in the community, to participate therein and have the right to those resources which will realize these goals. kwhs acknowledges that the primary responsibility for achieving these goals rests with individuals and their families. programs offered include: preschool outreach: children from birth to 6 years of age are eligible to receive supports and/or consultation within a licensed child care facility. residential services: provides individualized services and supports for children and adults in all aspects of daily living and community participation. community placement: supports youth between the ages of 18-29, with emphasis on increasing the participant’s independence and connec
