our group reseaches age-related macular degeneration, which is one of the most common vision-affecting diseases in the elderly population. it degrades central vision, which is responsible for most of the vision-related things we do in our daily lives like reading and facial recognition. by increasing the knowledge of amd's birth mechanisms, its progression, and effects, we aim to enable the creation of better and more specific ways of treatment. these include both general and individualized methods. our group is multidisciplinary, consisting of people from many stages and lines of education and with different work backgrounds. we also have team members and research collaborators from all around the world, bringing new and different viewpoints to the table. we study amd from many perspectives, utlizing various methods from molecular, cellular, and tissue sample levels all the way to animal models and clinical data. this gives us a robust, well-rounded foundation upon which we have be
