kaleidoscope began with a single bold question: what would we teach in high school if we started over from a blank sheet of paper? as we set out to answer it, our list of questions grew: how could we spark interest? what are the skills that really matter in work and life? what are the things we’ve only learned in the last fifty years that haven’t been looped back into curriculum? what would inspire students to become active citizens and stewards? kaleidoscope courses are our answer to these questions. we offer high school classes that connect to the world and show what’s at stake, that teach the issues and skills that will matter for forty years of work and life, not just four years of college. our classes build skills like storytelling and problem solving, tackle issues like climate change and immigration, and focus on ideas that connect to the core of who we are and how we operate, like the history of humanity and metacognition. our classes are offered à la carte for greater sc
