Kaleidoscope Orchestra

session orchestra based in manchester, uk. a mission to bridge the gap between classical and electronic music. kaleidoscope orchestra is a musical collective intent on bridging the gap between musical genres. drum n bass, dance, trance, grime and dubstep as you've never heard it before: kaleidoscope uses classical instruments to play non-classical music in new and unexpected ways. set up in 2011, kaleidoscope was the brainchild of two manchester university graduates, steve pycroft and david tagg-oram. the orchestra comprises a mix of young music professionals based mainly in manchester and london.  after a viral hit with their skrillex orchestral suite (arranged and orchestrated by steve pycroft), kaleidoscope quickly gained notoriety on youtube, racking up hundreds of thousands of hits on their orchestral suites. these include reinterpretations of music by flux pavilion, major lazer, pendulum, etherwood and netsky, all endorsed by the artists themselves. due to the success of these
