kalveo is focused on changing the value-proposition provided by most iot platform providers. it is challenging the very definition of iot or how it is being used and implemented throughout the industry. it is not enough to couple an iot platform with recycled technologies from 10 to 20 years that were built for the web, mobile and desktops (communication, analytic, database and exports). data generated from sensors cannot be handled like sales data, communication can't always depend on tcp/ip and http because machines do not use browsers. finally, not all events can be handled by a rules engine. a good example would be total power and network failure (which would disable most iot systems today).
