kama dc provides a platform for migrants and displaced persons to share their skills with the greater washington, d.c. community. • through kama, a diverse group of displaced persons and migrants are able to offer any classes and workshops they wish to teach. imagine a photography workshop, an arabic language class, a seminar on central american history or on african politics, and many more. the classes are meant to be as diverse as people teaching them! • classes are open to everyone interested in common learning and human exchange. a small fee covers basic material costs (where necessary), and participants are encouraged to provide voluntary donations to the instructors. the idea is simple - by learning from each other, kama builds constructive contact between groups who tend to interact on rare occasions. we facilitate dialogue, mutual understanding, and empower both instructors and course participants to build positive community relationships. the kama initiative has already been s
