KRT Local Optical Committee

what is an loc? the first constitution of an loc was in 1969. it is a committee which represents optometrists and registered dispensing opticians working in the area which is co-terminus with that of the gp clinical commissioning groups. there are two ccgs in our area richmond & twickenham and kingston. the committee sits with nhs england london regional area. our committee is open to both optometrists and dispensing opticians. members are elected in the usual manner of any committee at the annual general meeting (agm) and the honorarium members serve a term of 4 years. the constitution is reviewed 4 yearly or when there is a statutory change. its main objectives are: • to disseminate information about the general ophthalmic services and to assist individuals to understand and to comply with their terms of service. • to promote equality in provision of eye care services • to work with clinical commissioning groups (ccg)to deliver eye care services which meet local need and are communit
