started by brand/ad guy jason hartley in jan 2009 to follow his passion into food as amsterdam's first pop up restaurant lovefood went on to become an award winning dining experience and brand. from 2009 until the end of 2011 lovefood popped up all over amsterdam and became specialised in sunday brunch, being the first american/antipodean style brunch in the city. as a self taught chef jason's passion is on simple foods done well and local produce, he hand cured and smoked the bacon, hand baked the english muffins, hand made the sausages and scrapple to name but a few. in june 2012 he opened his first bricks and mortar location lovefood hq in the centre of amsterdam and maintained the success of the pop up, feeding brunches and dinners to 300-400 diners every thu-sun in their 40 seat restaurant, winning timeout's best of amsterdam dining award in 2012, het parool's a-location, and receiving 90% positive reviews across the web, not bad for a first year first attempt. jason was nam
