the irish wind farmers’ association is ireland’s representative body and lobby group for independent windfarm developers. regarding membership the iwfa has 30 members with operational wind farms ranging from 1mw to 35mw, with most of these projects are in the 5mw to 10mw category. a number of these members have gate 3 grid connection offers and planning permission to construct extensions to their operational projects. in addition to the members with operational wind farms we have about 40 members who have recently received or will receive in the coming days, gate 3 grid connection offers. most of these projects are in the 5mw to 10mw range. irish wind farmers association promotes and facilitates the development of small to medium scale wind energy projects promoted by both individuals and communities in ireland. irish wind farmers association continues to engage with all the stakeholders in the irish wind energy industry and has established itself as an important player in the industry
