out of school pursuing careers in medicine and marketing, it dawned on us how cyclical life can be. we decided to leave the daily grind of the 9 to 5, but what else was there to do? a stable job and eventually a mortgage were the next steps of young adulthood. how could we possibly break the mold. originally a joke that came up over a hockey game, running away with the carnival became a reality for us. we quit our jobs, packed our bags and set out to travel and work across western canada. a close friend of ours had worked the past several summers at the carnival and shared her experience with us in the past but we never considered that we might one day join her in. until we did.
