the overwatch project is coming at veteran suicide prevention from a new direction, using an approach that was successfully utilized to help solve another complex problem: drunk driving. we're building the equivalent of the “friends don’t let friends drive drunk” campaign for veterans, only instead of talking about alcohol and vehicles, we’re talking about firearms and suicide. we empower veterans with new skills and tools to save lives through suicide prevention trainings, conversation guides, and innovative online outreach that equip veterans to intervene when a friend is struggling – before it’s too late. we also help build suicide prevention capacity in non-profit networks, military family organizations, and others who serve the veteran community.
