non-traumatic lower extremity amputations are a global, leading cause of preventable disability. the social and economical impact demand innovation in addressing lower limb preservation. the vast majority of those suffering an amputation, have a complicated medical journey involving numerous medical specialists. this creates a challenge of equity of access, and orchestrating an individualized journey that demands a holistic approach of prevention, intervention and life-long support. at own health, we believe technology can facilitate a scalable consumer-centered solution for lower extremity health. beginning in ontario, canada, we believe we can save limbs by promoting prevention and equity of access to complex intervention when necessary. we believe education, life-style intervention, medical intervention and life-long support can prevent limb loss and promote lower extremity health.
